Kathleen Smith, DipWSET

Founder of The Happy Vine, Kathleen Smith grew up in Montreal, Canada. A city with a European flair, and one where cuisine and wine are deeply rooted. It is also a city rich with culture which drove Kathleen to travel the world experiencing different ways of life, food and drink. Now having relocated to the beautiful state of Rhode Island, Kathleen has taken her passion to the next phase.

She is an accomplished journalist, educator, wine judge and ambassador. She has judged for a number of globally recognized competitions throughout Europe, USA and Canada such as Concours Mondiale Bruxelle, Frankfurt International Trophy, Concours Mondiale des Vins Féminalise, Concours des Burgondia, Concours Général Agricole, Turkish Wine Challenge, Sélections Mondiales des Vins Canada,  Vins de la Vallée Hérault, Glass of Bubbly, Boston Wine Competition, Concours des Grands Vins de France Macon, Les Vignerons Indépendants.

A project management consultant, DipWSET certified and ambassador for both Concours Mondiale des Vins Féminalise and women owned and wines made by women Iola Wines.

Actively involved with projects throughout the USA and Europe published journalist with Rewriting The Wine News, Glass of Bubbly, The Good Gourmet,  Passion Des Vins AND blogger @thehappyvineks & collaborator with wineries on wine publications.  Fully bilingual (French and English) with proficient Spanish.

She is passionate about what she does, and wants to share her knowledge and experience.
